How it works

Five steps. The long ones tell you what they are doing.

Each phase is named, including the lookups for bedrock and railroads, which are saved and reused.

  1. Step 1

    Set the template

Choose the site drop, the On The Way drop, hub spacing, hub tail length, slack, cable sizes, and duct. Decide whether this run builds a splice plan. That switch applies to both designs.

  2. Step 2

    Bring in the layers

Sites and routes are GeoJSON. Roads can come from your own lines or from OpenStreetMap around the addresses. On The Way homes are a separate layer.

  3. Step 3

    Run the standard design

The status lists each phase: trace the fiber, place hubs and drops, place OLTs, then the splice plan or a skip, then bedrock depth and railroad crossings.

  4. Step 4

Add On The Way only if you want it

The route and the OLTs stay where the standard design put them. New hubs and drops are the only new plant, plus a splice plan if you asked for one.

  5. Step 5

    Read the bill and export

Switch between the standard bill and the On The Way bill. Export either GeoJSON or CSV from the project list.
